With the mic in my hand; I get to chill. At work I'm a Fed, and there I have to hold the checkbook and crack the whip. On stage, it's time to be that kid who came up listening to the old
man's collection of funk and blues, until one day I watched Metallica's 'One' on MTV.
I'm a mix of everything in my musical influences from Otis Redding to Motley Crue; and I have to say that the music from when I was coming up had so much to give a kid from San Antonio. Always has and still does.
Uncle Sam may have dragged me far from home, but don't let that throw you off, I'm here to help you raise a glass.
Critically acclaimed guitar player Wayne Myers was born a poor white child from the street of Rt 97 in Glenwood Maryland. He showed his early love for music by repeatedly singing the theme songs to the Banana Splits and Speed Racer.
As a fourth grade student, Wayne was given the opportunity to display his musical creativity and formally joined the Lisbon Elementary Band as a percussionist. For the next five years Wayne went on to pursue his music endeavors as a percussionist and fulfilled his dreams of being part of the Glenelg High School Marching Band.
Wayne received a lot of formal training and played to a lot of then-current music such as Jefferson Starship, Deep Purple, and Scorpions. He also co-wrote his first song entitled "Evil Woman" during those years. It was during that time that Wayne's much younger and less mature brother Gary Myers would obsessively watch Wayne play the drums and would try to mimic the soothing sounds his older brother was laying down on the drum set.
There was one defining moment when both Wayne and Gary wanted to play the same drum set at the same time, when older brother Wayne would say" I will learn to play a different instrument". Wayne remembers the day he walked into a local music store named Bill's Music House with his mom to purchase his first electric guitar and amp. "I remember the smell of the place" Wayne was quoted saying.
After many years of hard work, late night practicing, eight hours at a time, and taking his beloved new instrument to the bathroom with him, Wayne became a contributing sound in bands popularly known as "Rakkitt", "Kidd Lucky" and more widely known for his years forming and touring with the "Young Guns".
Since the Young Guns split up in the mid 90's. Wayne has been seen on stage with several other projects as a guest musician and several Young Guns reunion concerts.
Wayne is now part of the Streamline line up and is quoted as saying "The Streamline Band is by far the most fun group of musicians that I have ever shared the stage with". Wayne hopes that the Streamline band project will last us all until we are just too old to play music anymore.
Growing up, Brad was a private and somewhat lazy kid. By age 14, he came to the realization that his dream of becoming a Carnival Barker wouldn’t satisfy his desire to amuse the masses and still remain relatively unknown. Then, one evening in 1984, he saw Kool & The Gang on his favorite tv show, Solid Gold. It was then he realized that he found the perfect activity to fit his desired lifestyle. He could be a Bass Player in a band! That would allow him to have an impact on others. Remain almost completely anonymous. (Seriously can you name any bassists?) Also the bass only has 4 strings. How hard could it be? So he purchased his first bass.
Brad has played in several bands over the years; RSC, Holeshot, Bad Agent, and most recently No Laughing Matter. Most never knew Brad’s name or that he was in these bands…that’s because he plays the bass. He wears it like a cloak of invisibility.
Recently, when asked about a highlight in his bass playing career, he recalled with a smile “We had gone on break when a particularly attractive young lady approached me with a compliment on what a great player she thought I was. Our conversation continued for several minutes as we got to know each other. One of her friends approached and whispered something to her. At that point she said “wait your the bass player?” I responded yes. Without hesitation she turned and began talking to the guitarist. Hmm go figure.”
Brad was also asked what he enjoys most about his role in the band. “ I love it when I’m throwing out a deep groove and have everyone dancing, then I notice that the audience is convinced the guitarist is the one playing my groove, like I’m not even there…gotta love it!”
Brad is excited to be a part of Streamline, he loves to lay down the groove that makes your booty move. And, if you can’t remember his name, that is completely acceptable and expected....
Keyboard player and songwriter from Saarbruecken Germany
I've played in various Rock, Funk and Jazz/Rock bands in small and large venues since the age of 15, had various studio experiences and my first original LP in 1990.
I started playing drums at the age of 7 & was influenced by bands like Boston, Cars, Kiss, and Van Halen. I have played with several types of bands ranging from Country to Southern Rock & Classic Rock.
Thanks for visiting our website! I’m the old guy in the group. I started playing music in the late 60’s with some trumpet lessons followed by drums. Got my first guitar in 1969 and started playing with some schoolmates at that time. Played all through high school covering Hendrix, Doobies, Led Zep, etc. Went into the military for a while and then got busy with life, work and family.
Fast forward to 2010, a group of neighbors jamming together inspired me to start playing out again. I started with Alkatraz (featuring Kenny Mains from Poverty Ridge) for about 3 years, followed by . . . Aftermath. Got a call from Wayne (we met when he auditioned for us on another project that never materialized) saying he was looking for another guitar player, and here we are. I hope you like what you hear!
